Letter from the Editor: A red-letter day Return to Top
Katie Birmingham
Camtasia for Mac is shipping! Many have waited a long time for this day...and now it's here. Get right to the details of Camtasia for Mac below...

But we're not done yet.

With Camtasia for Mac 1.0 out the door and a high level of interest in TechSmith products among the Mac community, we felt it was the right time to announce that we are in the early stages of actively developing Snagit for the Mac. There aren't additional details to share at this point. But if you're interested in Mac products (or know someone who is) please join our special Mac email list for news and announcements.

A quick housekeeping note: the changeover to the new, dynamic newsletter system will be wrapped up soon and then we'll email you a prompt to enter your preferences (for real this time). Sorry for the unannounced hiatus in July; we should be back to our monthly schedule from here on out.

Jing story: Communication without boundaries Return to Top

Ellie O'Connor, Information Experts
Jing is a simple, free screen capture and recording application for Mac and PC. Its record-and-share-instantly workflow helps groups stay connected...even at a distance.
"I work for a small communications and 8A company that has about 40 employees right now. The main reason we started using Jing was to link the employees who work from home, to those working in house or out of state. We really needed a way to increase our collaboration as we implement some of the best practices in 'user centered design.'

"Now we're able to have a developer just record a video and talk employees through issues or problems. The visual aspect provided by Jing really helps us ALL stay on the same page. So many times, and in so many companies, the biggest problems are miscommunication between teams. Since we've been using Jing to 'explain' concepts and designs, our teams, both in office or remote, feel a much better sense of synergy and understanding. It has been a HUGE advantage to just have a recording there for viewing at any time, or for reference when needed.

"Great work with Jing and keep it up!"
