Letter from the Editor: Eco-Friendly newsletter Return to Top
Dave McCollom
Hello Everyone – It’s Dave, your friendly neighborhood education evangelist here again, giving Katie a little break this month.  I was thinking now might be a good time to be 'green’ and recycle an old letter from the editor that I wrote about a year ago.  In the October 2007 newsletter we asked you to ‘show off’ your stuff and send us examples of what you’re doing with our products.  We had a great response and met some great people, including Eric Marcos (TechSmith Newsletter Interview).  Eric and his students were recently featured in Harvard Ed Magazine for their innovative use of Camtasia Studio.

The main reason for the recycled newsletter is that now is the perfect time (especially if you’re in higher education) to show us what you’re doing.  We’re just getting into the fall conference season and have some big ones coming up soon – CIT in Salt Lake City and Educause in Orlando.  We will be creating a theater of user content to show off at these shows, so if you’re interested in being featured please send me an email.

Thanks for reading this 87% post consumer recycled newsletter – please do your part and opt not to print it out!

Enjoy!

Note from Katie. Are you currently using Camtasia Studio and SCORM? Please let me know. I am working on an article about Camtasia Studio and SCORM for next month's newsletter and would love to hear your stories.

Last month, we showcased some blogs that newsletter subscribers like to read. You may also remember that we asked you to participate in a survey and some of the questions asked about your favorite blogs and websites. Since we already talked blogs, it's time to talk websites. Here are some of your favorites, in no particular order:

Education Week - A variety of education-related blogs and articles.

eLearning HTML editor - HTML help specifically designed to help with the publishing of web content.

Ed Support - ideas for enhancing learning through technology.

Edutopia Magazine - More education-related blogs and articles.

eSchool News - Technology news for all grade levels.

The Chronicle of Higher Education - Higher Ed news and articles.

As a side note, some you may know that TechSmith has an educator resources section on TechSmith.com. Check it out, if you haven't already. And please, send feedback if you have ideas on how we could make it better.

No problem, just turn it into a video using Camtasia Studio. It's super easy with the PowerPoint Addin (which is part of Camtasia Studio).
