Home / Learning Center / Camtasia Studio / Getting Started / Camtasia Studio 4 Tutorial: Add Titles and TransitionsCreate and place Title Clips at the beginning, end, or between any two clips on the Timeline. Title Clips are a great way to prepare your audience for the topic that they are about to be presented. Transitions allow you to set specific entry effects that will transition one clip to another in your produced video. In this tutorial, we will cover: Adding a Title Clip to Your VideoThe Title Clips link is located under the Add section of the Task List pane. Click the Title Clips link and a new window will open within Camtasia Studio. Follow these steps to create a Title Clip for your project.
The illustrations below explain each section of the Title Clips menu in more detail.
Once your Title Clip is in your Clip Bin, you can click and drag it before, after, or between any two clips on your Timeline.
The duration of Title Clips can also be altered by right-clicking on the Title Clip in the Timeline and selecting Title Duration. Increase or decrease the number of seconds you wish to have the Title Clip displayed and click OK.
Inserting a Transition Between ClipsThe Transitions link is found under the Edit menu of the Task List section. When you click this link the Transitions window will open and replace the Task List and Clip Bin area on your screen. See the illustration for detailed descriptions.
You will also notice that the Timeline view has changed to the Storyboard view. When you find a transition you like, simply click and drag it to one of the locations between the clips on the Storyboard. Click the Finished button to exit this window and return you to the Timeline view and main interface of Camtasia Studio.
You can change the duration of any transition on your Timeline by right-clicking it and selecting from the menu. Your choices range from 1 – 5 seconds in length, and the default setting is 3 seconds.
