The Add New Profile Wizard

The Add New Profile Wizard allows you to create a new profile from "scratch" rather than modifying and saving an existing capture profile. The wizard walks you through choosing all capture settings. New capture profiles will display within My Profiles in the Capture Profile pane.

To access the Add New Profile Wizard, click the Add New Profile Wizard button located below the Capture Profiles pane. The Add Profile Wizard dialog box will display.

Step 1. Select Capture Mode

Using the buttons on the left, select the capture mode you wish to use. Choose Next.

Step 2. Select Input

Choose the Input button and a dropdown menu is displayed. Select what you want to capture. A bullet will appear next to the selected option.

Use the Input Properties... button to further define the capture input properties. Choose Next.

Step 3. Select Output

Choose the Output button and a dropdown menu appears. Select the destination for your capture from the list. A bullet will appear next to the selected option.

Choose the Output Properties... button to further define capture output properties. Choose Next.

Step 4. Selecting the Options

Using the buttons on the left, choose one or more of the desired additional options. Some of these options may be disabled, depending on the Mode and Input chosen.

• Include Cursor: Include the cursor in your capture.
• AutoScroll: Set SnagIt to AutoScroll to capture the contents of a scrolling window.
• Preview Window: Elect to see the capture in the Preview Window before going to the destination Output.
• Record Audio: For video captures, choose to record audio.
• Multiple Area: Capture multiple areas of the screen.

Step 5. Selecting the Filters

Choose the Filters button and a dropdown menu appears. Select the desired capture filters from the menu. These will be applied during capture.

Choose Next.

Step 6. Saving the New Profile

From the capture groups listed, choose the group into which you want to save the new profile.

• Alternatively, you can choose the Add Group button to create a new group.
• The group you choose will then be listed next to Create in:
• Type a name for the new profile in the Name: box.
• If desired, assign a Hotkey to the new profile by selecting any combination of CTRL, SHIFT, and ALT and then choosing a character from the dropdown list.
• Choose Finish. The new profile will be added to the capture profile list.
