Command Line Options

SnagIt accepts these command line arguments on the Windows Run... command line.

SnagIt Program Command Line Options

The following table summarizes the description and use of each SnagIt Program Command Line options.

Option Description
/h Hides the SnagIt window at startup.
/n Disables keyboard input to SnagIt (For use with DDE programs.)
/i Starts SnagIt as a minimized icon.
/S Causes SnagIt to do a capture using current settings and close when finished or canceled. This option runs SnagIt hidden with hotkeys disabled.
/SC Causes SnagIt to do a capture using current settings and continue to operate after the capture (not close). This option runs SnagIt hidden with hotkeys disabled.
/t Starts SnagIt with the system tray icon disabled (Windows 95/98 and Windows NT 4.0+).

Install Program Command Line Options

The following table summarizes the description and use of each Install Program Command Line options. These options are used for silent or enterprise installations.

Option Description
/S Performs the installation silently - no prompting the user.

See the eireadme.txt file included in the installation directory. For the silent install use the command line switch setup.exe /S /M=instvar.txt to read the designated variables from the file during setup.

Create a file called INSTVAR.TXT that contains the following entries:

SHORTCUT_TYPE=A

An "A" will select the corresponding option in the SnagIt Install program. Leaving the line blank will deselect the option.

/admin (Only for the multi-user versions) Starts the Enterprise install.
