Capturing the Entire Window with Auto Scroll

ID: 7014
Product:SnagIt
Platform: Win 98 and above
Version:7 and above

Overview

SnagIt can capture images, text, spreadsheets, or browser windows that are too long or wide to be seen on one screen without scrolling. Auto Scroll lets you grab the entire window automatically.

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to capture an entire window; both the part that is seen and that which is not seen and then save the final screen capture as an image file.

To Capture an Entire Browser Window with Auto Scroll

  1. Select A Scrolling Window from the Capture Profile pane.

Optional: Choose desired output from the dropdown menu in the Output area of the Capture Settings pane.
Optional: Choose a filter from the dropdown menu in the Filters area of the Capture Settings pane.

  2. Click the Capture button Capture Button.

  3. As you the cursor moves across the screen, SnagIt highlights the borders of the browser window in red. When you come across a window that is able to be scrolled, the cursor transforms into an Auto Scroll icon .

  4. To begin the capture, click on the desired scrollable window. SnagIt immediately begins the capture at the top of the page and scrolls to the bottom of the page, capturing all the text, images, and screen objects in it.

  5. When the scrolling is complete, SnagIt will automatically finish the capture.

Note: For more on SnagIt's scrolling capture options and capabilities see the SnagIt Online Help.
