Using SnagIt to upload to Flickr allows you to easily and quickly share captures created with SnagIt.
To use SnagIt to upload to Flickr:
- In SnagIt, select one of the Flickr profiles.
- Region to Flickr
- Window to Flickr
- Scrolling Window to Flickr
- Click Capture.
- Complete your capture. If you are using the Capture Preview window, edit your capture as needed and click Finish.
- If this is the first time you use one of the Flickr profiles, Flickr requires that you authorize the use of the SnagIt to upload to Flickr. See Flickr Authorization for more information.
- The SnagIt to Flickr Output Options dialog box opens. See SnagIt to Flickr Output Options for information on the options available in this dialog box.
Note: If you previously disabled the Always display Flickr Output Options checkbox, the image is uploaded and you return to the SnagIt main interface without seeing the SnagIt to Flickr Output Options dialog box.
- Modify the settings in the dialog box as needed and click Upload.
- You see an Upload Progress dialog box. When upload is complete, the SnagIt to Flickr Output Options dialog box closes and you return to the SnagIt main interface.
SnagIt to Flickr Output Options
The following table describes the fields in the SnagIt to Flickr Output Options dialog box.

Flickr account information: Lists the Flickr user that is logged in and has authorized the use of the SnagIt to upload to Flickr.
Click Change Authorization to open the Flickr Authorization dialog box. This dialog box lets you access the Flickr authorization process. See Flickr Authorization for more information.

SnagIt capture information: Contains a preview of your capture and fields for a title, description, and tags to associate with your capture.
- Use the Add to set dropdown box to select a Flickr set to contain your capture.
- Click New Set to create a new set in your Flickr account.

Copy to clipboard: Defines what is copied to the Clipboard after the capture is uploaded to Flickr. You can choose from the following:
- Don’t copy to Clipboard: Nothing is copied to the Clipboard.
- Image URL: Use this URL to access the image only.
- Page URL: Use this URL to access the Flickr page that contains your image.
- HTML for Image: Use this text to embed an image on a Web Site or in an HTML enabled e-mail.

Privacy Settings: Lets you select whether to make your image Private to restrict viewing the image to yourself, your friends, and/or your family, or to make the image Public so that anyone can view it.

Always display Flickr Output Options: Lets you select whether or not the SnagIt to Flickr Output Options dialog box opens each time you create a capture using the SnagIt to Flickr profile. Once you disable this option, you must run SnagIt2Flickr.exe to enable it again.

Save Settings as Default: Lets you save the current settings selected in the SnagIt to Flickr Output Options dialog box as the default settings.

Upload: Uploads your capture to Flickr.
Cancel: Cancels the current capture.

Flickr Authorization
You are presented with the SnagIt to Flickr Authorization dialog box in both of the following cases:
- The first time you use a Flickr profile, Flickr requires that you authorize the use of the SnagIt to upload to Flickr.
- You click the Change Authorization button.
To authorize the use of SnagIt to upload to Flickr:
- Click Start Authorization.
- Your web browser opens to a Flickr Services Web page that lets you authorize SnagIt to upload to Flickr.
Note: If you are not logged in, you will be asked to log in prior to accessing the authorization page.
- Click OK, I’LL ALLOW IT to authorize. You receive confirmation that you have successfully completed authorization.
- Close your web browser. You return to the SnagIt to Flickr Authorization dialog box.
Click Continue to complete authorization and proceed to the SnagIt to Flickr Output Options dialog box.
Removing Authorization
Once you authorize SnagIt to upload to Flickr, you can still use the Flickr profiles in SnagIt to upload even if you are not logged in to Flickr. To remove the ability to upload to your account:
- Log out of Flickr using your Web browser.
- Click Change Authorization in the SnagIt to Flickr Output Options dialog box.
- When the SnagIt to Flickr Authorization dialog box opens, the Authorization status is "(not authorized)".
- Click Cancel to remove authorization for your Flickr account.

The next time you use one of the Flickr profiles, you will need to re-authorize your account to allow SnagIt to upload to Flickr.
Changing Users/Authorization
If you currently have the SnagIt to Flickr Output Options dialog box open, and you would like to change to a different user:
- Using your Web browser, access Flickr’s Web site and log the current user out.
- Log into Flickr with the account you want to use.
- Return to the SnagIt to Flickr Output Options dialog box and click the Change Authorization button.
- Click Start Authorization.
- Your web browser opens to a Flickr Services Web page that lets you authorize SnagIt to upload to Flickr.
- Click OK, I’LL ALLOW IT to authorize. You receive confirmation that you have successfully completed authorization.
- Close your web browser. You return to the SnagIt to Flickr Authorization dialog box.
- Click Continue to complete authorization and proceed to the SnagIt to Flickr Output Options dialog box.
