Apply a Border Filter
| Product: | SnagIt |
| Platform: | Win 98 and above |
| Version: | 7 and above |
Use the Border filter options to add a customized border around your capture. You can select a width for the border and its shadow, put it outside or within the image, apply a 3D effect to make it look raised, and select highlight and shadow colors.
SnagIt gives you the option of creating a customized Border capture filter. The customized border option is a quick way to add the exact border that you need around all of your captures.
Within SnagIt, choose the Filters button to see the dropdown menu of options.
Choose Border, and the Image Border dialog box will display.
Place a checkmark next to Enable borders, then customize your Border and choose OK.
You will be back at the main SnagIt view. Set your Input and Output capture options.
Choose the Preview Window button from the Options toolbar.
Click on the Capture button to invoke the capture.
Once the capture is taken, it will be displayed within the Preview Window with the customized Border filter applied to it.
Choose Finish to send your capture to the output source. Choose Cancel to delete the capture.
Note: Once you create a custom Border filter, a checkmark will be placed next to the Filter > Border option to let you know that the filter option is enabled.
Tip: Once you have taken a capture and viewed it with the Preview Window to ensure that it is the exact filter that you desire, then you can always disable the Preview Window option so you no longer have to view the capture in the Preview Window each time you take a capture.
Note: To disable a Border filter, click the Filters button, and then choose Border. Within the Image Border dialog box, remove the checkmark from the Enable borders option.
