Add Interactive Flash Hotspots to your Captures
| Product: | SnagIt |
| Platform: | Win 98 and above |
| Version: | 8 and above |
Using SnagIt’s hotspot feature, you can specify parts of the image that, when moused over, will display descriptive text or images, or when clicked upon, will open a Web page. This short tutorial will show you how easy it is to add a Flash hotspot to a SnagIt capture. Follow these steps:- Make sure that the image that you want to capture is open on your computer desktop.
- Without minimizing the image you want to capture, open SnagIt.
- Select the Region capture profile from Basic Capture Profiles.
 - Click Capture.
The SnagIt window disappears, and you see the Web page and a finger pointer cursor with crosshairs. - Click and hold the left mouse button as you drag to select the image you want to capture.
- Release the button to complete the capture.
- When complete, the capture appears in the Capture Preview window.
- Click Links/Hotspots in the Task pane.
 - Choose a shape for your hotspot.
 - Click and drag to select an area of your image to contain the hotspot.
- Enter text for the tooltip that displays when you hover over the hotspot in the file image.
- Enter the link address of the item you want to open when you click the hotspot.

- Click Return to Tasks to return to your image. (At this point, you will no longer be able to see the hotspot.)
- Click Save As in the Output toolbar.

- In the Save As dialog box, enter a file name and choose one of the following file types in the Save as type dropdown list: Web page with image (*.mht), Adobe PDF (*.pdf), or Macromedia Flash (*.swf).
- Click OK to close the Save As dialog box.
- Click Done to close the Capture Preview window.
- Find and open your file that contains the hotspot. To see a hotspot, hover over the area of the image where you added the hotspot. We saved our file as a Web page with image (*.mht) file.
