TechSmith Announces Camtasia Integration with Microsoft Office 365

Collaborative video use encourages businesses to stay connected and get work done

OKEMOS, Mich., June 1, 2016 – TechSmith Corporation, the makers of Snagit and Camtasia, today announced Camtasia’s direct integration with Microsoft Office 365 Business, the cloud-based subscription service that helps people do their best work, together. The integration allows organizations to leverage the power of video within their existing or planned Office 365 investment. By empowering the use of video in an organization, Camtasia enables subject matter experts to create and share knowledge in the form of video content, in an easy to use and cost effective manner.

In 2015, comScore found that 87 percent of the total U.S. Internet population watches video online. With video existing everywhere, from desktop to tablet to mobile, it’s important that businesses innovate around a collaborative, connected work environment. Through Camtasia’s integration with Office 365, image and video content can be imported from the service to Camtasia for revision or repurposing. Content can also be shared directly out of Camtasia into the Office 365 platform. This serves a multitalented and multigenerational workforce, and enables increased collaboration and productivity to enhance workflows.

“TechSmith customers are always seeking ways to leverage video internally and externally in order to achieve more with less,” said [Dean Craven, chief technology officer] at TechSmith. “Camtasia’s integration with Office 365 means that regardless of job function within an organization, users are able to create powerful video content without barriers. This empowers teams to share, access and communicate across devices to facilitate smart business.”

In addition to Camtasia’s integration with Office 365, TechSmith also powers its TechSmith Smart Player for Office which enables an optional interactive viewing experience. To make content measurable and collaborative, users can add “hot spot” links within videos, as well as quiz and survey questions to open a two-way dialogue.

“We are pleased that this integration with Camtasia provides joint users the ability to evolve their workgroup processes to include remarkable video creation that is faster, more efficient and more effective," said Rob Howard, director, Office 365 Ecosystem, Microsoft.
