Video Playback Controls<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After recording a video capture<\/a>, the MP4 file opens in Snagit Editor to preview and edit. The video playback controls appear under the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duration<\/td>		Elapsed time indicates the playhead’s position on the timeline.

Duration indicates the total total length of the video.<\/td><\/tr>
\"Playhead \"Playhead<\/td>Playhead and Start\/End Selection Handles<\/td>The white playhead controls which frame in the video is displayed. Drag the playhead to jump to a specific point in the video.

Drag the green and red handles to select a segment of the video to cut out<\/a>, save as a new video<\/a>, or save as an animated GIF<\/a>.<\/td><\/tr>

(Mac only)<\/td>		Select a speed to review the video in Snagit. Playback speed does not affect how the video plays when you share, save, or export the file.<\/td><\/tr>

Combine Videos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Combine your video with others from your Snagit Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. In the video playback toolbar, click Add Videos<\/strong>.

  2. In the Combine Videos dialog, click to select additional videos.

  3. In the selected videos tray, drag videos to reorder as needed.

  4. Click Combine Videos<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The combined video appears on the canvas to review, edit, and share<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Trim or Cut Video<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Delete unwanted parts of a video such as mistakes or coughs, or trim the beginning or end of the video to shorten it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Drag the Start selection handle<\/strong> on the timeline to the location where you want to start the cut.

    2. Drag the End selection handle<\/strong> on the timeline to the location where you want to end the cut.

    3. To review the segment to be removed, drag the playhead across the timeline.

    4. Click the Cut Out<\/strong> button.

      A yellow line on the timeline indicates where the segment was removed.

      Tip: To trim a video, select and cut out the beginning or end of the timeline.<\/p>\n\t

      Drag the handles on the timeline to select the beginning or the end of the video. Then select the Cut Out<\/b> option to delete the selection.

      Save a Clip or Break Up a Video into Smaller Clips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Make a selection on the timeline to save a clip as a new video. You can also use this option to break up a video into multiple shorter clips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Drag the green Start handle<\/strong> and red End handle<\/strong> on the timeline to select a portion of the video.

      2. To review the selection, drag the playhead across the timeline.

      3. Click the Save As New Video<\/strong> button.

        The new clip appears on the canvas.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Repeat this process with the original video to break up a long video into multiple smaller clips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
