{"id":145461,"date":"2021-07-31T16:21:31","date_gmt":"2021-07-31T20:21:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/?post_type=tutorial&#038;p=145461"},"modified":"2026-01-28T15:25:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T20:25:19","slug":"batch-convert-images","status":"publish","type":"tutorial","link":"https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/tutorials\/snagit\/batch-convert-images\/","title":{"rendered":"Batch Convert Images"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div>\n<p>The Batch Export wizard allows you to edit multiple files to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Convert files into another file format.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply the same effect(s) to multiple files.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save a group of images to a new file location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply a naming convention to a set of files.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-windows\">Windows<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To open the Batch Export wizard, complete one of the following:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Snagit Editor, select&nbsp;<strong>File &gt; Export<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Snagit Editor, click the&nbsp;<strong>Library<\/strong>&nbsp;button. <strong>Ctrl+click<\/strong> to select images in the library. Right-click an image and select&nbsp;<strong>Batch Conversion Wizard<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Batch Export wizard displays selected images. Click the&nbsp;<strong>Add Files<\/strong>&nbsp;button to browse to and select additional files. Click <strong>Open<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After you have selected all the files to convert, click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the dropdown, select the effects to apply and click <strong>Next<\/strong>. For effects details, see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/tutorials\/snagit\/effects\/\">Add Effects<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Browse to select a location to save the images.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the&nbsp;<strong>File format<\/strong>&nbsp;dropdown, select the file format.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To apply a naming convention to the files, select the&nbsp;<strong>Automatic file name<\/strong>&nbsp;option and click the&nbsp;<strong>Options<\/strong>&nbsp;button. The Automatic File Name dialog opens with options to specify file name components, prefix, and numbering options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Finish<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Snagit exports the new images to the selected location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mac\">Mac<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/tutorials\/snagit\/recent-captures-tray\/\">tray<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/tutorials\/snagit\/snagit-library\/\">library<\/a>, <strong>Command+click<\/strong> to select images.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Control+click<\/strong> an image and select <strong>Export<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Batch Export wizard appears. Edit the desired file properties:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Filename:<\/strong> Enter a filename. Snagit exports the files with the assigned filename and a numbered suffix such as &#8220;_1&#8221;, &#8220;_2&#8221;, &#8220;_3&#8221;, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Effects:<\/strong> Select an effect from the dropdown. Click the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"12\" height=\"12\" class=\"wp-image-236506\" style=\"width: 12px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/s23-gear-icon-1.png\" alt=\"Settings gear icon\"> icon to edit the effect properties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rotation:<\/strong> Complete one of the following:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enter a custom angle in degrees.
