What is the Global Capture Hotkey?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Print Screen<\/strong> or PrtScn<\/strong> (Windows) or Control+Shift+C<\/strong> (Mac) is the default shortcut to start a Snagit capture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Snagit is running in the background, this global shortcut is always available no matter what app you are using.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current settings in the Capture Window determine the type of capture the global shortcut launches, such as image capture, video capture, All-in-One, etc. To learn more or change these settings, see Capture Your Screen<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Default Global Capture Hotkey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  • On Windows, the default global capture hotkey is the Print Screen<\/strong> or PrtScn<\/strong> key.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • On Mac, the default keyboard shortcut is Control+Shift+C<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    2. Click the Shortcut field.

    3. Press the desired key combination on the keyboard.
