Permissions are required for\u00a0Camtasia Editor<\/a>\u00a0to capture video and access the OS Photo Library. A dialog appears the first time Camtasia Editor runs on macOS 10.14 or later.

To open the Camtasia System Permissions dialog again, click Camtasia > Settings<\/strong> (macOS 13 or later) or Preferences<\/strong> (macOS 12 or earlier) > General tab > Camtasia System Permissions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enable Permissions in Camtasia Editor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. In the Camtasia System Permissions dialog, click Edit System Permissions<\/strong> or the Enable<\/strong> button for a permission. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Complete one of the following:\n
      \n
    • macOS 13 or later:<\/strong> The Privacy & Security settings dialog opens. Click the corresponding Camtasia version checkbox in the right column to allow the permission.
      \"System<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • macOS 12 or earlier:<\/strong> The Security & Privacy > Privacy tab dialog appears. Click the corresponding Camtasia version checkbox in the right column to allow the permission.
      \"Open<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • After a permission is enabled, a prompt to exit Camtasia Editor appears. Click Quit & Reopen<\/strong> or click Later<\/strong> to manually restart Camtasia Editor at a later time after all desired permissions are enabled.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Note:<\/b> It is recommended to enable all permissions before restarting Camtasia Editor. If you do not restart after permission changes, Camtasia Editor may display unpredictable behavior.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

      Manually Edit Permissions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      1. Complete one of the following:\n
          \n
        • macOS 13 or later:<\/strong> Open Mac System Settings<\/strong> > Privacy & Security<\/strong>. Click the permission type in the right column.

        • macOS12 or earlier:<\/strong> Open Mac System Preferences<\/strong> > Security & Privacy<\/strong> > Privacy tab<\/strong>. Click the permission type in the left column.

        • Click the corresponding Camtasia version checkbox in the right column to allow the permission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
