Higher frame rates can result in larger file sizes.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Encoding<\/td><td>Select <strong>H.264 (default)<\/strong> or <strong>H.265<\/strong> compression. <br><br>H.265 provides greater compression and smaller file sizes, which is useful for 4K and HD recordings. However, it requires greater processing power and is less widely supported across devices and platforms.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Downsample Retina video recordings<\/td><td>Scales video recordings to smaller dimensions. The dimensions can vary depending on the original recording dimensions.<br><br>If video quality is a concern, consider disabling this option. When disabled, the text and graphics appear crisper, but the video may result in larger file sizes and dimensions.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Show video countdown<\/td><td>Displays a three second countdown before starting the video recording.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Hide desktop icons during video capture<\/td><td>Automatically hides desktop icons and only shows open applications in video recordings.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Automatically start video recording<\/td><td>Automatically start recording after clicking the <strong>Video Capture<\/strong> button in the All-in-One capture toolbar. Consider deselecting this option if you intend to send your video recording to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/camtasia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Camtasia Editor<\/a> for editing.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>System Audio<\/td><td>Snagit uses the built-in audio recording on macOS 13 or later.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-share-tab\">Share Tab<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Share tab determines which destinations appear in the <strong>Share<\/strong> dropdown in Snagit Editor and the order in which they appear:<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"702\" height=\"490\" class=\"wp-image-270777\" style=\"width: 702px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/s24-share-tab-dropdown.png\" alt=\"Share destinations on Share tab and Share dropdown\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/s24-share-tab-dropdown.png 702w, https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/s24-share-tab-dropdown-300x209.png 300w, https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/s24-share-tab-dropdown-150x105.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 702px) 100vw, 702px\" \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the Share tab, complete any of the following to edit the options available from the Share dropdown:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Add a destination:<\/strong> Click the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"33\" height=\"22\" class=\"wp-image-270783\" style=\"width: 33px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/s24-share-plus-icon-1.png\" alt=\"Plus button\"> button and select a destination from the list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Remove a destination:<\/strong> Click to select a destination in the list, then click the  <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"33\" height=\"22\" class=\"wp-image-270765\" style=\"width: 33px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/s24-share-minus-icon.png\" alt=\"Minus button\"> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reorder destinations:<\/strong> Drag and drop a destination in the list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Turn off descriptive file names:<\/strong> When sharing to Screencast, Snagit creates a descriptive title that includes source information, such as the name of the file or web page captured. To turn off these descriptive file names, uncheck the <strong>Include capture source in shared file names and titles<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"tip tip-snagit\">\n\t<p>Tip: Add multiple instances of a destination for different accounts.<\/p>\n\t<p>You may have multiple accounts for the same destination, for example separate Google Drive accounts for work and personal use, or multiple Slack workspaces.
