05: Sharing Your Video

After recording, the video opens in Snagit Editor. Quickly share video captures to popular destinations using the outputs.

    Click an output above the Open Captures Tray. Snagit disables any outputs that do not support video.

    Note: Videos may take some time to process after upload and may not be immediately available for playback.

    Which Output Should I Select?

    The table below compares the following criteria for video hosting options from Snagit:

    • Provides a link or embed code: Copies a URL or embed code onto the Clipboard for quick sharing. See Get a Link for Sharing for more information.
    • Privacy Levels: Describes the privacy settings available for the video hosting service.
    • Commenting: Lists if the video hosting service allows for viewers to comment on the video content on the page.

     YouTube  Yes
    • Public: Anyone can view it
    • Private: Can only be seen by you and the users you select. Won't appear on your channel or search results and will be invisible to others. Need Google account to view the video.
    • Unlisted: Can only be seen by users who have the link to the video. Won't appear on your channel or search results. Do not need a Google account to view the video.

    Share to YouTube when you want to promote or share your video with a large distribution of viewers. With YouTube, you can:

    • Monitor the viewing data and trends.
    • Enable the video to appear in Google or YouTube user search results.
    • Create a channel that users can follow for new content.
     Screencast.com  Yes
    • Public: Anyone can view it
    • Hidden: Can only be seen by users who have the link to the video.
    • Password: Can only be seen by users who have the link and password to the video.
    • Authenticated: Users receive an email and must log into their Screencast.com account to view the video.

    Use Screencast.com when you want to quickly share the video content for free with a user or group of users.

     Google Drive
     Yes
    • Private: Only you can access
    • Public on the web: Anyone on the Internet can find and access. No sign-in required.
    • Anyone with the link: Anyone who has the link can access. No sign-in required.
    • Specific people: Share with specific people by email address. Select to allow edit or view only rights.

    Share to Google Drive when you want to store or transfer video files or collaborate with others.

    To transfer content back into Snagit, select File > Import from Google Drive.

    OneDrive for Business
     Yes
    •  By default, content is only shared with you.
    • In OneDrive for Business, you can change the Share settings to allow individual users to view the content.

    Upload video files to share with your coworkers or to access from another computer or device.
