To record an iOS device, you’ll need a computer running Mac OS X 10.10 or later, a device running iOS 8.0 or later and a Lightning cable to connect the two.
Connect the iOS device to your computer, open Camtasia and you’re ready to get started.
In Camtasia, open the recorder and select the mobile device you’d like to record. A preview of the device screen appears in the recorder. When you’re ready, click the “Start Recording” button.
To enable microphone or system audio, select the options in the recorder. To finish a recording, click “Stop Recording.”
With Camtasia’s Gesture effects, you can add visual effects that simulate taps, swipes, and pinches in your video. Open the Gesture Effects tab in the tools panel, then click and drag a gesture effect to a clip on the timeline.
To customize the timing of an effect, open the effects tray and drag the ends of the effect. To customize the look and feel of an effect, select the clip with an effect applied and adjust the effect in the properties panel.
Add a device frame to your iOS recording to establish context and add polish to your mobile videos.
