Use Snagit to record a video and then turn the video, or a portion of it, into an animated GIF. If you already have a video, import it into Snagit and then convert it into a GIF.
Record a video or open one in the Snagit Editor. Drag the playhead handles to the start and end points of the footage you want to appear in the GIF.
When finished, click the GIF button to turn the selection into an animated GIF.
After clicking the GIF button, a dialog appears where you can customize the production settings. In the dialog, choose to create a GIF from the selection or the entire video. Optimize the settings using the dropdown. If you want to fade to black at the end, click the checkbox.
When everything is set, click Create to finish the process. Snagit produces a GIF and displays it in the editor. Now you’re ready to share it with colleagues, friends, or the world!
