Need a link to email your image or video to a colleague or client? Need a way for others to provide feedback or ask questions about your content?

Share Link is the best way to share Snagit images and videos for collaboration across time zones and busy schedules. In this tutorial:

Overview

The Share Link button uploads your image or video to Screencast, TechSmith’s online content hosting service, and copies a link to your clipboard to email or share with anyone anywhere.

Screencast’s built-in conversations let you quickly gather feedback on your content, start a discussion, or brainstorm further with your team.

  1. Click Share Link.

Snagit uploads the file to Screencast and copies a link to your clipboard.
  2. Paste (Ctrl+V for Windows or Command+V for Mac) the link into an email or another application to share with your audience.

Note: Click the Share dropdown to share to other applications or file locations. See Share Captures.

Engage Your Audience with Your Content

Anyone you share the link with can view your content and comment in the conversation – no account necessary.

Paste the link into a web browser to view your content on Screencast.

Note: Although the Screencast website is only available in English, it supports content, titles, descriptions, and conversations in other languages.

See Screencast tutorials to learn more about how to engage your audience and manage your content in Screencast.

Note: Share Link uploads your content to a new version of Screencast at app.screencast.com. If you are an existing Screencast user, you may also have content in the Screencast Classic Library at www.screencast.com. To learn more about your Screencast Library in each version, see Where’s My Screencast Media?.

The Share Link button may be disabled for a variety of reasons.

Share Link was introduced in Snagit 2023. Snagit shows a Share button instead of Share Link if:

  • You are using Snagit version 2022 or earlier; or
  • You are using Snagit version 2023 or later for Windows but Screencast is not enabled as a share destination. To enable Screencast, download the Screencast plugin from Download Snagit Share Destinations or contact your system administrator.

Note: This tutorial is for Snagit version 2024. Previous versions may look or function differently.
