Getting Started with Camtasia Online
Learn how to use Camtasia Online for quick video creation and collaboration.
In Camtasia Online, turn screenshots, screen recordings, and content from collaborators into polished, ready-to-share videos, all from your web browser. Camtasia Online gives you the flexibility to work with whatever you have.
Then, make it look professional with customizable layouts, effects, backgrounds, and transitions.
1. Start a Video Project
In the Project Library, click New Project or open an existing one. Complete any of the following to start adding content to your video:
- Generate a Video – Add up to 20 images and transform the content into a ready-to-share video.
- Collaborate – Invite others to record or import content and edit scenes in your video project.
- Import Media – Import images, videos, and Snagit Step Captures as your video scenes.
- Record a Scene – Record your screen, camera, and mic. Add unlimited scenes (up to 5 min. duration per scene) to your video project.
2. Edit
Get the desired look for each scene in your video with these simple edits:
- Customize a scene with our professionally-designed layouts, effects, and backgrounds.
- Apply audio effects to improve the audio quality.
- Enhance the cursor to help viewers follow the action onscreen.
- Trim out unwanted parts.
- Apply transitions between scenes.

3. Export & Share
Camtasia Online offers many ways to share your video:
- Download an MP4 video file.
- Get a shareable link on Screencast to get feedback or for quick video shares.
- Send your video to Camtasia Editor on the desktop to continue editing and export your final video.
