Build Your Video with Imported Media

Learn how to import and edit media files to quickly create a professional looking video.

Import Media

Import and manage recordings, video, audio, and image source files for your current project in the Media Bin.

  1. Click the Media tab.
  2. Click Add media button > Import Media or double-click in the Media Bin.
  3. Click to select the media to import. Control+click (Windows) or Command+click (Mac) to select multiple files.
  4. Click Open (Windows) or Import (Mac).
  5. Drag the media onto the timeline.

The imported media appears in the Media Bin and on the timeline. To learn more, see Import & Manage Your Media.

Note: Set the canvas dimensions, editing frame rate, and audio levels during the editing phase of your project.

Add an Intro/Outro

Add an intro to introduce a speaker or scene. Add an outro to provide a call-to-action for your viewers.

To add a premade intro/outro, drag the asset from the library to the desired location on the timeline, or right-click (Windows) or Control+click (Mac) the asset in the library and select Add to Timeline at Playhead.

Trim Media

Remove mistakes when screen recordings don’t go as planned.

  1. Drag media from the Media Bin onto the timeline.
  2. Click to select a clip on the timeline (Mac only).
  3. Hover the cursor over the beginning or end of the clip.
  4. Drag the end of the clip in or out.

Note: Automatically remove the space between media on a track to insert or rearrange media on the timeline. See Close Timeline Gaps with Magnetic Tracks.

Add Annotations

Improve your video and focus your user’s attention with annotations.

  1. Click Annotations > Callouts subtab or Arrow & Lines subtab.

  2. Drag an annotation from the tools panel to the timeline or the canvas.
  3. Double-click the annotation to change the text.
  4. Click the Properties button to change the font, background color, and more in the properties panel.
  5. Click and drag the annotation handles on the canvas to change size, position, or rotation.
